Yesterday was a very functional day and indeed a day that needed to happen for the health of the INELI group projects. We spent the day together working on our group scopes and refining down to a concept that we all understood, ensuring we could track forward over the next 10 months or so. It was a hard day, it was a good day, and I feel team Community Stories is in a much better place now than before. The lunches here are great, with the buffet providing a great range of food. I lunched with among other people, Deborah Jacobs, and it was good to have a chance to chat and find out a bit more about Deborah.
The afternoon was more group projects and then the INELI people sharing a 90 second talk on innovations or things they have been doing. It was great to hear from everybody and again be reminded of the amazing things we all are doing and how these make a difference in the lives of the communities we live and work in.
Dinner last night was at the Chinese restaurant in the hotel. This is a very high end Chinese restaurant and not the stuff I am used to in NZ. There are no dim sums, no chow mien or sweet and sour. This is serious food stuff. Again a bit of challenge for me and for the second time this trip I ate Abalone. I drew the line at Sea Cucumber I am afraid, but also realised I ate jellyfish the other night. However, the food was great and it was lovely once again to spend and evening with colleagues :-) Knud, Dawn, Lida and myself had a hilarious time at our table.
I was tired last night, so no night time activities ensued, but tonight will be another matter.....
